Following a vote from members in June, we will now be known as the Brisbane Southside Chamber of Commerce (BSCC)!

During the June Coffee Event, we asked our members about changing our name, and the proposal was met with unanimous approval.

BSCC Secretary Geoff Webster says the change will better align with our demographic and changing attitudes.

“Our previous name lacked local identity and was ambiguous for potential audiences”

“We want our members to feel proud of their region, and work towards the common goals of the greater community.”

The committee agrees changing the name is important to rebranding the chamber and adapting to the new commercial environment that evolves due to Coronavirus, digitisation, and a public appetite for sustainable economic development.

The chamber’s new name is currently in the process of approval by the Office of Fair Trading, and we look forward to updating our brand to best represent contemporary attitudes of the community.

Our committee has also been in discussions with members about designing new logos, which we look forward to displaying in the near future.
