At October’s breakfast meeting, we were pleased to host Graham Quirk as our guest speaker. A former Brisbane Lord Mayor, Graham currently serves on the Board of Infrastructure Australia, Racing Australia and Racing Queensland. He is Chair of the Lockyer Valley/ Somerset Water Collaborative and provides strategic advice to Grace Education and Migration.

Graham shared the results of Infrastructure Australia’s recent study on Job Market Capacity. This study provides an important indication of what is happening across many market sectors of our economy. Graham explained in his typical engaging style how staff shortages are already proving to be a challenge for business owners, construction and government entities, and elaborated on ways we can effectively deal with these significant issues. A most informative and timely presentation!
